Is this a simplified yet proper veiw of election unto salvation by Jesus Christ?

This is how I view any form of salvation or 'opening ones heart to a diety': all you need do is proclaim in your heart of hearts that you are in service of said diety and act in ways that do him/her/it proud, end of story, there is no need for a big fancy prayer
